ミュータン旅へ行く(1) Mutan Leaves Home(1)
こむしば村の穴ポコパというところに、ミュータンというかわいい男の子が住んでいました。
村の人たちはなに不自由なく暮らしていたのですが、ある日の朝、なぜか、おいしい食べ物がパタリととまりました。
いつもは朝早くから、甘くていいにおいのするものが，洪水（こうずい）のようにドオーッと流れこんできていたのです。
そしてそのあとから、キャラメルやおかしが入ってきて、こむしば村にすむひとたちは、なに不自由なく平和にくらしていたのでした。
けさは、ミュータンたちは腹ぺコです。突然！どこからか、
「よくすみずみまでみがきなさい！ 今朝は，歯医者さんに行くお約束の日ですから，おやつは帰ってからですよ！」
キンキン声がこだまのように、こむしば村にひびきました。
しばらくすると、ドリルや水てっぽうの怪獣（かいじゅう）が、こむしば村をおそいました。
しかも、いちばんミュータンたちがこわがっていた、電しんばしらのおばけがおそってきたのでした。
住むところを失った村の人たちは、若いミュータンに勇気と知恵をあたえ、平和な村にもどしてくれるのぞみをかけて、旅へ行かせるのでした。
Once upon a time, a little boy named Mutan lived in a big cave called Cavity Village.
Cavity Village was a quiet little village, and all the people there lived peacefully and happily together.
From morning to night, Cavity Village was full of delicious things to eat.
There was caramels and candy and cookies and gum and rivers of soda.
The people in Cavity Village were never hungry.
Then one fateful morning the people of the village awoke and discovered there was nothing for them to eat.
A voice like thunder echoed through the town.
" BRUSH YOUR TEETH WELL, BECAUSE YOU'RE GOING TO DENTIST THIS MORNING. YOU CAN HAVE YOUR SNACH LATER! "
Giant monster drills and sprays guns attack Cavity Village.
And something Mutan and his friends feared most afraid of all happened: a monster like telephone poles invaded their village.
The people of Cavity Village were left homeless, and they sent Mutan, with lots of advice and encouragement, to look a new place for them to live.
